My Fitness Background

I was brought up in Scotland and had a very active childhood including ice skating, roller skating, tap dancing (eek!), and ballet. However, even with all this exercise, I was a chubby child as I was being fed a typical Scottish diet of fish fingers and chips and LOTS of macaroni cheese (yuk!).
After I graduated I rediscovered exercise and also started to make radical changes to my diet. I lost 21 pounds of weight. I felt fantastic.
Although I was ultra-thin, my body still did not look great as I had very little body tone and definition.
I started to train with free weights and ditched the long boring cardio sessions I was doing. They were not working. My body started to firm up and look much better.
I also made changes to the food I was eating - improving the quality and variety. Finally I looked at my lifestyle and made some quite radical changes. I felt calmer and had a great deal more energy.
I am always looking to improve my level of overall fitness and wellbeing. The journey doesnt stop. I love training and learning. It is my passion.
